Are you looking for some last minute ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your family? Here are some fun, frugal ideas.
Make a Special Dessert
Use a chocolate heart to turn ordinary Peanut Butter Blossom cookies into a Valentine’s Day treat. If possible, encourage your children (young & old) to help you make them. That way you’ll all be able to enjoy the end result and some quality time in the kitchen with your family.
Do Some Crafts Together
There a wide variety of crafts you can do together as a family. Just remember that the objective is not to have a perfect final product, it is to enjoy each others company.
- Capture the attention of the boys in your household with this Homemade Valentine’s Day Slime
- Use a stalk of celery and some paint to make a rose Valentine’s Day cards
- Turn these DIY Bird Feeders into a Valentine’s Day craft by using heart shaped cookie cutters
- Make a handprint rose bouquet

Most importantly, don’t forget to tell the ones you love how much you appreciate them! Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!

Another healthy twist you can include for Valentine’s Day is using time together with a loved one to go for a walk, to go ice-skating, bowling or any favorite physical activity you and your family enjoy. Spending time together is always a wonderful way for everyone to spend Valentine’s Day and being active together and enjoying healthy treats will benefit you and your loved ones all year long.
Emerson,
I completely agree. Some of our favorites are hikes, riding bikes, walking around the neighborhood and playing kickball in the backyard. All free, good for you and fun.
Hope you had a great day!
